My heart goes out to all of the graduates during this pandemic, canceled commencement ceremonies, professional plans in jeopardy, rushed goodbyes, a  sense of camaraderie, cancelled proms and everything else these poor graduates are experiencing. It feels like a sudden break-up that no one saw coming. We’ve come up with some ways you can still celebrate your graduates while in quarantine and make the best out of this situation: 

• Host your own graduation at home, have everyone dress up and pose for pictures.

• Video call or have extended family on speaker phone to add to the celebratory atmosphere.

• Cake! Stressed spelled backwards is desserts, coincidence? Absolutely not, celebrate with a cake or your favorite dessert. 

• If commencement is cancelled, there are lots of inspiring speeches online.

• Recognize graduates via social media and yard signs. Nothing says congratulations like a life size poster of yourself in your yard! 

• Still go out (or stay home) and take those cap and gown photos!
