I’m so excited to share the photos from our leap year inspired shoot that my team and I put together! We loved working with all of our incredible vendors, and I can’t stop daydreaming about this Irish inspired wedding. Plus, we’re sharing special behind the scene pictures from this session.
“May you never steal, lie or cheat. But if you must steal then steal away my sorrow. And if you must lie, lie with all the nights of my life; and if you must cheat, then cheat death. Because I couldn’t live a day without you.” -An Irish Wedding Blessing
My inspiration came while watching the romantic movie, leap year. It occurred to me that leap year, a year of 366 days, which occurs once every four years was happening this year. I thought it would be fun to do a “leap year” styled photo shoot that spotlighted the leap year Irish tradition. Every four years on leap day, a woman can ask a man to marry her and if they decline, the fine to be paid by the man ranges from a kiss to payment for a silk dress or a pair of gloves. So ladies, what are you waiting for? Go get your man!
Every detail we chose for this session needed to represent that Irish tradition. I knew Heritage Gardens, inspired by the French countryside, would be the PERFECT venue. It has a beautiful, cozy, enchanting vibe, with the most amazing and accommodating staff. The natural looking lush gardens and charming waterfall were so inviting. The view of the garden and mountains from the spacious building is breathtaking. Everything about this venue overachieved my expectations!
I searched high and low for the perfect couple and social media did not disappoint, it led me to Katie and Ryan. Katie is absolutely stunning and has the most gorgeous long red hair I think I’ve ever seen. Sarah Hicken Artistry did an amazing job on her make-up and hair, she was mesmerizing. It just so happened that she had a lavishing handsome husband that made for the perfect groom as well. We purchased the grooms attires from Joseph A. Bank, they have such a huge selection and are top quality. The gorgeous wedding gown we got from Something Borrowed Bridal Rentals had the perfect combination of shimmer and elegance. It was classy, yet simple, with beautiful detailed lacey beads that highlighted Katie perfectly. It might just be the most stunning wedding dress I’ve ever photographed! Jessa with Lennox Flora put together the most breathtaking and absolutely beautiful floral designs.
Our setup consisted of four wonderfully talented photographers who are all part of the Tasha Rose Team long-term, and only one editor to keep all of our photos cohesive. We were able to capture these gorgeous photos using all four of our unique photo techniques and the talent we each bring to our team. We were so lucky to work with the most amazing group of collaborators for this shoot! It was the perfect day from the stunning, dazzling custom made ring from Sarah, Diamond in the Brough, to the divine, elegant invitations put together by Calli.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about every single vendor! They really brought our collective vision to life with their talent and artistic gifts and I’m so grateful I got to work with each one of them. Happy leap day!
