If you know anything about me, you know that I love music! My husband and I like to play and compose songs together. Today’s bride and groom are also music lovers! Singing and choir groups are woven into their love story. Abigail even surprised Ben with an acapella musical number performed by some friends during their ring ceremony.
Abigail & Ben were high school sweethearts. They parted ways for a few years and reconnected after her mission in a choir group at Brigham Young University. The two of them had also performed together in choirs in high school. She saw him from across the room and felt like she should go talk to him. I’d say she made the right choice!
The couple was married on a lovely spring morning at the Provo City Center Temple. Their friends and family members were obviously overjoyed! They hugged and congratulated the couple with such heartfelt happiness. Later that afternoon, the celebration continued with a ring ceremony and reception in a family’s friend’s backyard. Abi’s dad is from Scotland, so he and her brothers wore matching kilts for the ring ceremony. They also had a bagpipe player for the processional. It was fun for me to experience the wedding traditions of another culture.
All of their guests had a great time laughing and dancing and enjoying dessert. Abi’s brother told a sweet story of a time when Ben helped him prepare for choir auditions even though Abi was away for college and they two of them weren’t dating anymore. Her brother pulled a sheathed dagger from his sock during the reception which the bride and groom used to cut the cake!
Congratulations, Abigail & Ben! I can tell the two of you have many, many years of happiness ahead of you!
