This dreamy California engagement session was the best of both worlds with city and beach vibes!

The California dream couple, meet Brooke and Austin. These two met at school while attending BYU but didn’t actually date until they matched up on the dating app called Hinge. Austin lives outside of San Francisco and Brooke will be moving there after they get married in April. I’ve known Brooke for a couple of years and I’m so excited to be their photographer.

I was ecstatic about the opportunity to do their engagement photos in California, and it was nothing short of magical! We were able to hit some beautiful landmarks. Downtown San Francisco at Fisherman’s Wharf on Pier 39 did not disappoint. We had fun finding spots around the Pier and afterwards headed to the Gray Whale Cove State Beach. Featuring a beautiful cove surrounded by cliffs that drop off into the Pacific Ocean. Talk about a romantic engagement location! We got to enjoy the beach while capturing some epic photos.

I love getting to know couples outside of shooting time. These two are so full of love and laughter. Together they’ve taken on worldly challenges and worked through hard times while staying committed to one another.

Brooke and Austin convinced me to postpone my flight home and stay a couple extra days. On Sunday I enjoyed the country vineyard areas of California, ate farm fresh eggs, and enjoyed some much-needed relaxing time. The next day I joined Brooke in the city to help her find her wedding gown. I’m looking forward to their wedding at the Draper temple in April. It’s a Utah wedding, but we’re hoping for California weather.
