We love summer weddings in Utah! The flowers and colors are always such a gorgeous compliment to the stunning bride and groom. Here’s a beautiful summer wedding at the Draper Temple for you to fall in love with!

Harrison and Melinda Sligting met at a YSA ward activity (classic Provo, Utah but still the perfect love story). They’re are students at BYU—Melinda is in cello performance and Harrison is in computer science. Finding out that they are both musicians (Harrison was originally a piano performance major) was what they really connected over. This cutie couple started “hanging out” and would play music together, which is a favorite thing for both of them. After becoming good friends, he finally asked her on a date last October.

When it came to the actual proposal this past April, Harrison made it a complete surprise. Instead of going ring shopping with Melinda, he talked to her roommates to find out what kind of rings she liked. Then he popped the question after a beautiful date at the Utah Symphony. So romantic!

The Sligtings had their wedding in the Draper, Utah Temple on July 6th. The timing of their sealing was perfect, and Tasha was able to get all of their dreamy wedding photos before Utah’s summer afternoon heat really set in. Tasha was impressed by how many friends and family were at the temple to celebrate with them, including Melinda’s little nieces who loved carrying the train on her dress.

Since most couples don’t have a photographer at their luncheon, we didn’t get to see one of the guests’ favorite moments when the bride and groom performed the first song they learned together as a couple. But we did love every detail of their beautiful reception held at Shade Home and Garden. Congrats to the Sligtings and thanks for having us be a part of your magical day!
