How did you first get into photography?
I got a basic camera for Christmas one year and would take pictures whenever I could, especially to document things as I grew up! I also took a photography class in high school that I loved and wanted to study photography in college. I ended up choosing a different major, but still kept my interest in photography. Fast forward to when I got married and my husband got me my first DSLR. After that, I would watch YouTube videos to learn more and take pictures for family and friends. I invested in more photography education and grew from there!
What is your favorite thing to photograph?
Why do you love photographing families?
I LOVE taking pictures of families because they change so quickly! It’s so fun to have pictures of kids at different ages and stages and to capture their interactions with siblings and parents. It’s so fun to go back and look back on pictures to see how everyone has changed. The cute little faces they make, how they smile, all the little things that would be easy to forget! I also love being able to document the everyday life to look back on as well. It makes me so happy being able to take pictures of my family and others so they can have them to look back on as well!
Where is your favorite place to take photos?
Do you have any advice for couples or families before their photo session?
Come as you are! Don’t stress about your kids being perfectly behaved or having the perfect outfit. Those things definitely help, but I’m a mom! I get how it is! Everyone will have a better experience if you come as you are and are happy to be there, rather than stressing about things and having that show up in the pictures.
