Beautiful engagement photos at Storm Mountain against a snowy mountain backdrop in Big Cottonwood Canyon. What started out as an adventure with a handful of unexpecteds, quickly turned into the winter photo session of our dreams!
While engagement photos at Storm Mountain may not be the first place you think of as a prime location for the ideal frosty photos, it’s likely this spot will climb to the top of your list after seeing these stunning images! And the first months of the year—sprinkled with regular snow showers—are the perfect time to get some of these winter wonderland pictures for yourself!
But with this lovely landscape often comes unpredictable weather. Ever made plans for the perfect photo session, and then had things go not quite as planned. Well, that’s exactly what happened for Amy and Cole. But when a blizzard and lots of snow hikers made the anticipated pictures a little bit difficult, what did Tasha do? She took her clients to a beautiful, secluded spot and captured all of the moments they were hoping for!
But before we get into all of those details, it’s time for you to officially meet Amy and Cole—soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Alger! It all started because Amy was sick of the Mutual app. Relatable, right?! So, her friend dared Amy to create an account on Hinge, a different dating app. It was kind of an “I’ll get it if you get it” type of situation. Thank goodness for good friends because a few days later, Cole and Amy matched! They started talking, went on their first date a couple weeks after that, and just never stopped talking. They have talked every single day since mid-July. For both of them, the timing was definitely meant to be! So, maybe pause your Mutual account and swipe on over to Hinge? That’s definitely what Amy and Cole would suggest.
About their relationship, Amy said, “Things have just felt so natural and easy for us. We’ve both expressed multiple times how it feels like we’ve always known each other. We are constantly saying or thinking the same thing at the EXACT SAME TIME. Somehow we’re still surprised every time it happens haha. But really. It feels like we were meant for each other, and I’m so glad we found each other!” Absolutely adorable, right?! As the climax of their perfect courtship story, Cole proposed at the Idaho Falls Temple in January.
But Amy knew Tasha long before she ever met her Prince Charming. She actually started following Tasha’s Instagram account even before they started working at the same charter school! Months later when Amy was looking for the perfect wedding photographer, it was a no-brainer.
When Cole and Amy were talking about their ideal pictures, Cole had two requests: a morning photoshoot and mountain pictures. Unfortunately the weather did not allow for a sunrise session, but through a bit of exploring and a lot of laughs, they found their ideal spot (despite a blizzard) a bit further down the canyon at Storm Mountain! And wouldn’t you agree that the pictures turned out so beautifully?! Tasha can’t wait to spend more time with Cole and Amy as their wedding photographer in March!
