Spending the summer in Washington D.C. with my husband has been an absolute dream come true! The architecture here is spectacular and so full of history. I recently got to photograph the sweetest couple ever at sunrise at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. This anniversary session is definitely one of my new favorites!
Kayla & Chris have been married for a little over a year. They still have that loving newlywed glow! It was so cute to see just how much the two of them adore each other. Throughout our whole session, Chris was admiring Kayla and kept saying the most endearing things to encourage her. He showered her with compliments about her gorgeous hair and how much she meant to him. There’s really nothing better for me than photographing couples in love!
Chris is working on getting his MBA, so he and Kayla are currently living here in D.C. where they met. She works in public relations and social media strategies. I met Kayla & Chris through my best friend who is close to the two of them. She has told me that Kayla & Chris are some of the most down-to-earth and inclusive people ever. I definitely got to see that side of them during our session.
The circular structure and the columns of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial is modeled after one of his favorite buildings, the Pantheon in Rome. My husband and I are going to be traveling to Italy this summer (Milan, to be specific) so you can imagine my excitement for this little taste of Europe! I love the outfits Kayla & Chris chose for their couples session. Her little white dress and his classic suit and tie were the perfect match for the gorgeous architecture of Washington D.C. and really let the couple and their love for each other shine.
