Looking for a warm and cozy location to take your engagement photos, but don’t know where to go because it’s the middle of the winter? We’ve got you! Amelia, one of our wonderful associates, gave the Johns the best of both worlds. She created the perfect combo of pictures at two different locations: a colorful greenhouse and a field of wintered foliage.
But before we go into all of those details, time for you to meet Heather and Markus—soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Johns! These too have a love story straight out of a music video. They met at Utah State University where they both play the trombone in the marching band. Heather didn’t really notice him at first, but after regular carpools and standing together in the stands at games, they forged a friendship that will last forever! Their courtship involved many Pixar movies, trying new foods, and lots of late nights when Markus would walk Heather home in the cold winter weather. She says those are actually her favorite memories!
Markus proposed at the Minnetonka Cave at Bear Lake where they had already made some great memories together. They went into the cave together, and when they walked out, Heather saw a friend and her family waiting. Markus got down on one knee and of course Heather said, “Yes!”. About their relationship, she said, “I love that he and I are similar. We share similar beliefs and views and we both heavily believe in being kind. I also love that we make each other laugh!” From their pictures, you can see for yourself just how blissfully happy they are together.
Before their scheduled photo session, Heather saw some pictures taken at a greenhouse by one of our past associates. She loved them and told Amelia that she hoped their engagement photos could be taken in a similar location. Amelia agreed and suggested Kays Creek as another perfect spot so they could have a variety of pictures.
The Valley Nursery in Uintah, Utah (South Ogden) was a winner right from the beginning! It was so warm inside that they didn’t even need jackets. They also found that there are two different greenhouses available for pictures in the winter: a succulent greenhouse and another with a great variety of flora and fauna. The photos they took here were the perfect compliment to those they also took at Kays Creek. Even though the foliage at Kays Creek was much more muted, the light was perfectly golden!
Since Heather and Markus have had to change their wedding plans so many times due to Covid-19 restrictions, and Amelia is so happy that they were able to get the exact pictures they were hoping for! She is so excited for them to start their life of happiness together and is grateful to have captured some of their precious memories.
